Terms of Service
Last updated: October 7, 2026
Satinbook gives independent beauty artists their own booking app. These terms apply to artists who use Satinbook and to clients who book through an artist’s app. By using Satinbook you agree to them — they’re short, please read them.
1. What Satinbook is
Satinbook hosts a booking app for each studio: services and prices, free times, booking, reminders and a dashboard for the artist. Satinbook is a tool — we are not a beauty provider and not a party to your appointment.
2. Bookings are between the client and the studio
- Each studio sets its own services, prices, hours and policies — cancellations, late fees, deposits, no-shows. When you book, you agree to that studio’s policy, shown before you confirm.
- Questions about an appointment, its price or quality go to the studio. Satinbook can’t change or refund a studio’s decision.
- Please give correct contact details and cancel through your booking link if your plans change.
3. Payments and deposits
Satinbook does not accept, hold or process payments. Deposits and payments go directly from the client to the artist through Cash App, Zelle, Venmo or another app the artist chooses. Any refund or dispute is between the client, the artist and that payment app. Satinbook only records what the artist marks — for example “deposit received”.
4. For artists
- Plan. The first 30 days are free. After that the plan is $29 per month (or the price agreed with you, such as the founding price). You can cancel any time; the current month isn’t refunded, and nothing more is charged.
- Your account. Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You’re responsible for what happens in your studio’s dashboard, including what your staff do there.
- Your content. Your photos, texts and prices stay yours. You allow Satinbook to host and show them in your app and to make the app work. Only upload what you have the right to use.
- Your clients. Use clients’ details only to serve their appointments and to stay in touch about your studio, and follow the laws that apply to you, including on messages and privacy.
- Pausing. If a plan isn’t paid or these terms are broken, we may pause the studio’s app. Clients then see a short-break page. On request we’ll send you your client list.
5. Fair use
Don’t misuse Satinbook: no fake bookings, spam, attempts to break in or overload the service, illegal or harmful content, or impersonating someone else. We may remove such content and close accounts that do this.
6. Availability
We work to keep Satinbook running and your data safe, with daily checks and weekly backups. Still, the service may sometimes be unavailable, and emails, notifications and reminders can arrive late or not at all — please don’t rely on them alone for anything critical.
7. Disclaimer
Satinbook is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Satinbook isn’t responsible for the services studios provide, for what studios and clients agree with each other, or for payments made outside Satinbook.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Satinbook isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses — such as lost bookings, income or data — and our total liability for any claim is limited to what the artist paid Satinbook in the 3 months before the claim, or $100 if that is more. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that can’t be limited.
9. Privacy
How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes and ending
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and we’ll email artists about important changes. Artists can stop using Satinbook at any time. If you have a question or a complaint, write to us first — most things are solved in one email.
